Meta Finis: Music

In this writer's opinion, music touches the heart more than the brain. My father was a musician and I early on loved classical music of the Russian persuasion.

In my opinion, music is spirituality and religion is prose. So when I preached in Yosemite, I appealed to the heart rather than the head. I noted that people hunger for that. Babies stopped crying, coughing stopped. Eyes were fixed  on me saying wordlessly to keep in that groove. People came up afterward to thank me for what I tried to do.  I tried to do what music does to one, to leave them with a lyric and melody.

I only ever preached on the music in the words of Joshua of Nazareth. His parables were poems of the highest order. When he spoke, his words were remembered for generations.

The best thing I ever did was to try to get inside his songs and his lyrics.  They certainly lit up my life. I would really like to interview him now and ask him what he now thinks about what history did to him.
