Is the Internet free? Hardly. It's much like TV. You pay for the connection and are amused by programs supported by advertising. Google prospers by advertising, the big brother brain washing agent of this society.
Practically every space is plastered with advertising. The brain washing you are exposed to, if you pay attention to it, is 1984 really.
It disgusts me and is so omnipresent as to be part of the scenery in an affluent society where for profit is the major motivator.
The news outlets have been bought by those who know news can be cast as team sports, entertaining.
No news any more. Only interpretations of what will happen next.
