Rise And Fall

I am not the first to realize that when a country forgets its genius, it dies. Lincoln most clearly expressed and defined the American genius in the words "a government of the people, by the people and for the people",

Lincoln realized that our genius was that "we are in it together". We are dying as a democracy of the people by the people and for the people, as we morph into a vicious and blood thirsty plutocracy.

Where did this "pledge" idea come from? Vote for me and I will vote for your self-interest and not for the people.

Our time has come and is now passing away. Every polity does.
